Mahindra & Mahindra has ambitious plans to introduce seven new battery electric vehicles (BEVs) by 2030, starting in 2025. Recently, the carmaker revealed its first born-electric SUVs – the BE 6 and the XEV 9e, and announced the pricing for their entry-level Pack 1 variants. The full price list will be unveiled in January 2025 at the Bharat Mobility Show. These EVs will be followed by the electric iterations of the Mahindra XUV 3XO and XUV700 SUVs.
Let’s take a closer look at these upcoming Mahindra electric SUVs.
Both EVs will be offered with 59kWh and 79kWh battery packs, delivering power outputs ranging between 231bhp and 286bhp, depending on the configuration. These batteries can charge from 20 percent to 80 percent in just 20 minutes using a 175kW DC fast charger. Initially, the EVs will be available with a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) system only.
Mahindra’s new born-electric SUVs feature a “compact three-in-one powertrain” that integrates a motor, an inverter, and a transmission. The Mahindra BE 6 EV offers a cockpit-inspired interior with dual floating infotainment displays, while the XUV 9e has triple screens running across the width of the dashboard.
Both models are packed with advanced features, including a Dolby Atmos audio system with 16 Harman Kardon speakers, 5G connectivity, in-car cameras, a panoramic sunroof with segment-first patterned lighting, and Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) with five radars. Mahindra’s new electric SUVs will be sold through the brand’s existing dealership network.
The XEV 7e is among the most anticipated Mahindra electric SUVs set for launch in 2025. It is the electric version of the XUV700, sharing several design elements and features with its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart. Leaked images reveal that the XEV.e7 will feature a closed-off grille, headlamps, and a front bumper design similar to the XEV 9e, while its rear section will resemble the XUV700.
Inside, it will have a three-screen setup, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a panoramic sunroof, a Level 2 ADAS suite, a two-spoke steering wheel, drive modes, VisionX HUD, powered front seats with memory function, an electronic parking brake, and more.
The XEV 7e is expected to share its powertrain with the BE 6 and Mahindra XEV 9e, featuring 59kWh and 79kWh battery packs paired with a single electric motor. Its estimated range is around 500km.
The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is expected to hit the roads in early 2025. Spy images suggest that the electric version of the XUV 3XO will sport a redesigned front grille with a larger central air intake, updated badging, and new alloy wheels. It will also feature C-shaped taillamps and a license plate mounted on the tailgate.
The interior layout and features will be similar to the ICE version of the XUV 3XO, with highlights including a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, push-button start/stop, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
The powertrain setup is likely to include a 35kWh battery pack. More details are expected to be revealed in the near future.
Upcoming EVs in 2025 include eVitara, Harrier EV, MG Cyberster & more with up to 500 km range, ADAS, and premium features across segments.
