Mahindra Thar 5-door, likely to be renamed Thar Armada, is expected to launch in mid-August 2024. Ahead of the official arrival, its test mule has been spotted several times on roads. But, this time, the 5-door Thar was spotted in the production-ready avatar, revealing fresh details and multiple colour options. Find more info.
Mahindra 5-door Mahindra Thar was seen wrapped in heavy camouflage. However, the new colour options could be seen under the cover, hinting at offering multiple exterior paint choices including Red, White, and Black colour.
Design-wise, it is likely to get a new multi-slat front grille, circular LED DRLs in the headlamp cluster, side steps, fender-mounted turn indicators, dual-tone alloy wheels, a tailgate-mounted spare tyre cover, and new LED taillights.
The interior of the upcoming Thar 5-door will be loaded with a variety of impressive features. It is expected to get a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, front armrest, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, USB Type-C charging ports, and more. A single-pane sunroof for the lower variants and a dual-pane sunroof for the top-end models are also expected.
Mahindra Thar 5-door is expected to come with the same engine options offered in its 3-door counterpart. So, the upcoming Thar might continue with the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 3.3-litre diesel engine options. Transmission jobs will be taken care of by a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission.
The launch of the 5-door Thar Armada is just around the corner. Apart from giving tough competition to the Force Gurkha 5-door, it could rival the Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Tiguan, Hyundai Creta, MG Astor, and Maruti Grand Vitara. The starting price of the Thar Amarda could start from Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom).
