In the first 8 months of this year, we saw many big launches like the Curvv EV, Thar Roxx, new Swift and others. The next 3-4 months, a series of new cars and SUVs will be launched in our market. Here is a list of top 9 cars which will be launched in our market in the next 3 to 4 months -
Tata Motors will announce the prices of the Curvv petrol and diesel versions on September 2, 2024. The company has already released the variant details and engine specifications of the SUV Coupe. It will mark the debut of the brand's new ATLAS modular platform, which is likely to be used to develop the next-gen Nexon and the Sierra ICE. The Tata Curvv will be offered with 3 engine options - a new 1.2L Direct Injection Turbo petrol, a 1.2L turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo diesel. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Hyundai India will release the prices of the Alcazar facelift on September 9, 2024. The company has already revealed the exterior design. Adding to it, interested buyers can book the new Alcazar facelift online or at authorised Hyundai dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000. It will be offered in 4 trim levels - Executive, Prestige, Platinum and Signature. The 2024 Hyundai Alcazar facelift will be offered with two engine options including a 1.5L turbo petrol and diesel engines. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer.
MG Motor will launch the Windsor electric CUV (Crossover Utility Vehicle) in our market on September 11, 2024. The company has already released multiple teasers that show the styling, and features of the Windsor EV. It is basically the re-badged version of the Wuling Cloud EV on sale in select international markets. This electric CUV will come with Hyundai Ioniq 5-slike panoramic glass roof, segment-first Aero-lounge seats with 35 degree recline and its high ground clearance. It is expected to get a front-axle mounted electric motor, which draws power from a 50.6kWh battery pack. The combined power and torque output stands at 134bhp and 200Nm, respectively. It is likely to offer a range of over 500km on a single charge.
Kia had showcased the EV9 closer-to-production concept at the 2023 Auto Expo. The company has confirmed that the electric SUV will be launched in our market on October 3, 2024. It is built on the same skateboard architecture that underpins the EV6 on sale in our market. The 3-row electric SUV is expected to be offered with multiple seating layout, depending on the variant. It is offered with 2 battery packs - a 76.1kWh and a 99.8kWh. While the former is available with RWD standard version, the latter comes with both RWD long-range and AWD setup. The electric motor in RWD version is rated at 150kW and 350Nm. On the other hand, the AWD version with two motors offer 283kW and 600Nm. It is claimed to offer a certified range of 541km on a single charge.
The new-gen Kia Carnival will also be launched on October 3, 2024. It will be the facelifted model that debuted sometime back in global markets. The new model looks completely different from the previous model, offering more SUV-ish looks and better equipped cabin. It is expected to be offered with the same 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine that produces 200hp and 440Nm of torque. For transmission duties, the MPV will have an 8-speed 'Sportsmatic' automatic gearbox.
The new-gen Dzire sedan is scheduled to be launched during the festive season, around September or October 2024. It will be based on the same HEARTECT platform that underpins the new Swift. The sedan will have significantly different front styling than the Swift hatchback. It will come with segment-first electric sunroof. The company could also add a 360-degree surround view camera. The compact sedan will get the same Z12E, 1.2L 3-cylinder NA petrol engine that powers the Swift. Paired to either a 5-speed MT or an AMT, the new 3-cylinder engine produces 82PS and 112Nm of torque.
Honda Cars India will showcase the third-generation Amaze sedan in the country by December 2025. Production of the car is likely to commence in December 2024, while deliveries are expected to commence in January 2025. It will be based on the same platform that underpins the City sedan and the Elevate SUV. The platform will be modified to accommodate a smaller sedan with a shorter wheelbase. It is expected to be powered by the same 1.2L, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 90hp and 110Nm. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
Mahindra is preparing an electric version of the recently launched XUV 3XO in the country. It is reportedly to be launched before the end of this year. The new XUV 3XO EV will sit below the XUV400 and will rival the Tata Nexon EV. The spy shots reveal that the SUV will share the styling cues with the ICE counterpart, except for the few EV-specific changes. It is expected to get a 35kWh battery pack that's smaller than XUV400's 40kWh unit. The SUV is likely to offer a range of over 350km on a single charge.
Tata Motors will introduce the long-awaited Nexon CNG in the country before the end of this financial year, most probably during the festive season. The SUV was showcased at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Show. It will be the country's first CNG Car with a turbocharged petrol engine. The SUV will be equipped with a 1.2L 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine along with Tata's twin CNG cylinder technology. The new model will witness a significant drop in power and torque outputs; however, it will still remain more powerful than the Maruti Brezza CNG. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and an AMT.
