After launching the new Syros compact SUV, Kia is now planning to launch multiple new cars and SUVs in the Indian market in the next couple of years. The company is currently testing 3 new utility vehicles including the new electric recreational vehicle and Carens facelift. Adding to it, the Kia Seltos will enter the new generation by the end of 2025 or early 2026.
The all new Kia Seltos has already been caught testing on the Indian roads as well as in Korea. If media reports are to be believed, the new-gen Seltos will be launched in the country towards the end of this year. Let's talk about the new model in details -
Going by the spy images, it is visible that the new Kia Seltos will come with a completely revised front fascia; however, the overall profile will remain identical to the existing model. The SUV gets a new grille design, which is likely to be similar to the Kia's latest models in global markets. It will have revised front bumper that houses new air dams.
The SUV will come with a newly designed headlamp setup that houses three vertically-placed rectangular lamps and long vertical LED DRL strips on either side. The rear will also receive major changes and will have more boxier profile than the existing model. It will have newly designed tail-lamps, which will be inspired by the EV5 and other new Kia cars.
The next-gen Kia Seltos will receive significant changes inside the cabin. It will share the cabin layout with the new Carnival and the EV5. The SUV will have a layered dashboard with soft-touch materials and leatherette finish. It will have a Carnival-like dual-screen setup for infotainment and driver's display. The infotainment unit will have better user interface and connectivity options.
The next-gen Kia Seltos will have Syros-like two-spoke steering wheel. Other features likely to include Heads-Up Display, electrically adjustable front seats with ventilation function, panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control and others.
The biggest update under the hood of the new Kia Seltos will be the introduction of a petrol-hybrid powertrain. If reports are to be believed, Kia is considering a strong hybrid powertrain for India, and Seltos could be the first model to get it. The Korean brand is likely to introduce hybrid setup in the existing 1.2L and 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol engines.
If rumours are to be believed, the new Seltos might get a 141bhp, 1.6L hybrid powertrain with an AWD setup. The existing line-up is also expected to be on offer - a 113bhp, 1.5L NA petrol, a 114bhp, 1.5L turbo diesel and a 157bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol. Multiple gearbox options are likely on offer, including a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, a 6-speed automatic, and a CVT automatic.
