BYD has achieved a significant milestone with its newest SUV in India, the Sealion 7. The brand has registered over 1,000 bookings for this all-electric SUV. The deliveries of the SUV will begin in mid-March 2025. The two variants Premium and Performance are powered by an 82.56 kWh battery pack and level 2 ADAS among other modern features.
Let's have a look a closer look at the electric SUV and know why it's a hit for the brand.
The SUV is built on the e-Platform 3.0, the brand's latest. It comes with an 82.56kWh battery pack, which is standard with RWD and AWD configuration. The entry-level variant that is Premium is claimed to range 567km on a single charge and the Performance version is rated to deliver 542km at the expense of a better power output, standing at 523bhp and 690Nm of peak torque.
In both variants, the SUV offers a 15.6-inch infotainment system, digital instrument panel, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 12 speakers, panoramic glass roof, wireless charger, Level 2 ADAS suite, 360-degree camera, 11 airbags, and a driver fatigue monitoring system.
The starting price for the Premium and Performance variants is Rs 48.9 lakh (ex-showroom). With its pricing range, the SUV is up against the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Volvo EX40, and the BMW iX1 LWB in the all-electric crossover/SUV segment.
