Car manufacturers have released sales numbers for the month of December 2024. Most of the brands have ended the year on a high note, posting positive sales growth. Despite challenging times, car sales have started showing signs of recovery.
Maruti Suzuki has recorded a massive sales growth in the month of December 2024. The company sold a total of 178,248 units last month as against 137,881 units in December 2023.

Hyundai Motor India Limited has reported the highest ever yearly domestic sales of 6,05,433 units in CY 2024. The total sales including domestic and export stands at 7,64,119 units in CY 2024. In the month of December 2024, the company reported a total sales of 55,078 units as against 56,450 units in the same month last year. It reported a YoY sales decline of 2.4%. The brand's domestic sales stood 42,208, which is again a dip of 1.3% from 42,750.

The homegrown automaker sold a total of 44,230 passenger vehicles in the month of December 2024 as against 43,470 units in the same month last year, reporting a YoY sales growth of 2%. The company sold 5562 electric vehicles last month as against 5,006 units in December 2023, reporting a YoY sales growth of 11%.

In the Utility Vehicles segment, Mahindra sold 46222 vehicles in the domestic market in December 2024 as against 39,881 units in the same month last year, reporting a YoY sales growth of 16%. The brand's total sales in FY25 till November stands at 360936 as against as 298593 units in the same period FY24. The company has reported an unprecedented YoY sales growth of 21%.

Toyota has reported a significant sales milestone in 2024 by recording its best-ever calendar year sales. The company sold a total of 3,26,329 units in 2024 as against 2,33,346 units in the same period in 2023. Furthermore, in December 2024, Toyota sold 29,529 units as against 22,867 units in December 2023. The company reported a year-on-year growth of 25%. The company sold 24,887 vehicles in the domestic market and exported 4642 units.

Kia India has dispatched 170,674 units between April and November 2024, recording a YoY sales growth of 1.75%. In the same period in 2023, the company reported a total sales of 167,729 units. Kia Sonet was the best-seller for the Korean brand with 73,971 units sold. The Kia Seltos and Carens account for 50,347 units and 45,631 units, respectively.
In December 2024, Kia sold a total of 18,995 vehicles as against 12,536 units in the same month 2023. The company reported a year-on-year sales growth of 51.52%.

Honda Cars India is struggling to increase its sales despite having Elevate and newly launched new Amaze sedan. The company sold a total of 5,603 vehicles in December 2024 and reported a YoY sales decline of 29.09%. In the same month 2023, the company sold 7,902 vehicles. The brand's total sales including domestic and exports stand at 9,460 which is again a decline of 18.18%. The company exported 3,857 vehicles last month.
