Exports to go up by 6.67% Four plants under construction in Kharkhoda, Haryana Maruti Suzuki sold 1.68 lakh units in April 2024
Maruti Suzuki estimates its CNG passenger vehicle sales to rise by 30% in FY2024-2025, PTI reported. Exports may also see a 6.67% increment, the report added. India’s largest car manufacturer’s CNG lineup includes Alto K10, Wagon R, Celerio, Dzire and Brezza.
“So [talking about] CNG, in 2023-2024, we did about 450,000 (units) in passenger vehicles. We are hoping to do something like 600,000 vehicles in this financial year. [About exports], we did about 283,000 units in FY24. Despite the fact that we have increased substantially over the usual 100,000 units per year that we used to do just about four years ago. We wish to take it further in the future years. And this year, we should be doing about 300,000 units fairly diversified across markets, across products," Rahul Bharti, Maruti Executive Director Corporate Affairs, said during an event.
Maruti’s upcoming Kharkhoda plant in Haryana will house four units with a combined capacity of 10 lakh units. As a part of the company’s growth plan, one plant out of the four with a capacity of 250,000 cars is under construction and will be operational by 2025, Rahul added further. By fiscal year 2030-31, production could be doubled to 40 lakh. Notably, the upcoming Grand Vitara seven-seater would be manufactured at this plant.
Supply issues pertaining to the Ertiga MUV are to be addressed by capacity expansion of about 100,000 units at the Manesar facility.
