Honda Civic, Accord and CR-V Could Launch in India this Financial Year

Honda to launch 5 new vehicles by end of this FY2026-27 Civic, Accord and CR-V under consideration Honda Prelude 2-door sports coupe could come as a CBU model

Honda Cars India will launch 5 new vehicles in the Indian market by the end of this financial year. The company will introduce the ZR-V hybrid SUV by July 2026. Adding to it, the brand’s first electric SUV based on the 0 Alpha concept will be introduced in the first quarter of 2027. The company is also evaluating some of its global icons, including the Civic, Accord and CR-V for the Indian market.

All these models are likely to be brought in as full imports in limited numbers. The Civic, Accord and CR-V are hugely popular among customers in India. These models are offered with hybrid powertrains in markets abroad, and the same are expected to be introduced in our market.

The company could also bring these models via completely knocked down  (CKD) route. For people not in the know, Honda Cars India had discontinued the Civic and CR-V in 2020. Both these models were locally assembled at Honda’s manufacturing facility in Greater Noida. Honda’s Greater Noida facility can be used to locally assemble these cars. The facility has the capability to support CKD assembly operations.

Honda is also considering Prelude hybrid sports car for the Indian market. This sports car will be positioned as a halo model and brand builder. The new model is expected to cost somewhere around Rs 50 lakh, and will be a new alternative to the Skoda Octavia RS. This 2-door sports coupe is based on the Accord sedan, and has shark looks.

The Honda Prelude is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, Atkinson cycle direct-injection petrol engine paired with two electric motors. The hybrid powertrain offers a combined power and torque output of 197bhp and 315Nm, respectively. It is paired to Honda’s new S+ Shift system, and has four driving modes - Comfort, GT, Sport and Individual.
