Hyundai has officially announced its all-new electric Creta, which is scheduled to launch on 17 January, 2025, at Auto Expo. The electric version of the Creta could offer better range and technology over the traditional fuel-powered Creta. On the other side, earlier last year Tata launched its very first electric sports coupe SUV-Curvv. It is an electric variant car integrating the features of an SUV while having a trendy, coupe-inspired design. These EVs will compete for the same segment of electric SUVs in Indian markets.

The Hyundai Creta EV features two battery packs. The one is 51.4 kWh and comes with a potential to deliver around 473 kilometers on a full charge. While the smaller one is a 42 kWh battery capable of covering approximately 390 km. It takes less time and can go up from 10% to 80% level using fast DC charging in a minimum of 58 minutes. It takes 4 hours to get full charged by using Smart Connected Wall Box for home charging.
On the other side Curvv EV does boast a two-battery variant: 45 kWh and 55 kWh. They churns out 148 bhp and 165 bhp of power, respectively and same 215 Nm of torque. The battery options appear to boast equal performance by this SUV which hits from 0 to 100 km/hr in 8.6 seconds. It has regenerative braking and three modes: Eco, City, and Sport.
The Creta EV looks bold and modern with a closed-off front grille, pixelated pattern, and active air flaps for improved aerodynamics. It carries forward the overall silhouette of the standard Creta, but it comes with new 17-inch alloy wheels. The rear is pretty similar to the standard version with connected LED tail lights.
Tata Curvv EV has sporty and coupe-like design. It comes with sharp body lines, flush door handles, and an attractive closed-off grille. It is separated in the segment because of 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and sleek profile.

The Hyundai Creta EV comes with double 10.25-inch digital displays to handle driver and infotainment functionality. It has a 5-seat capacity with power-adjustable along with ventilated front seats. The Creta EV also features V2L technology that allows charging devices inside or outside the car. And the i-Pedal technology allows the driver to control acceleration and braking and stopping with the accelerator pedal.
The Tata Curvv EV has a more airy cabin with the panoramic sunroof. It also comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and ventilated seats. Other amenities include dual zone climate control AC, a four spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, paddle shifter, and power adjustable seats for driver only.
Both brands have been focusing so much on safety. The EV model of the Creta comes with 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, and a Vehicle Stability Control system. Higher variants will also get Level 2 ADAS features, including lane-keep assist.
The Tata Curvv EV features 6 airbags, rear parking sensors, auto hold, and ABS with EBD as standard fitment. The same also offers Level 2 ADAS with 20 safety features such as lane departure warning and blind-spot collision warning.
The Hyundai will disclose the prices of Creta EV, at Bharat Mobility Show 2025. It is likely to get a price range of Rs. 15 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh, ex-showroom. It stands next to other EVs like the MG ZS EV, upcoming e-Vitara, and Seltos EV.
The Tata Curvv EV has a price range between Rs. 17.49 lakh to Rs. 21.99 lakh. It competes with some of the popular performing EVs such as MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3 and Hyundai Ioniq 5.
