Hyundai Motor India has announced a price hike for the Creta Facelift, marking the first increase since its introduction. Despite the price increase, the Hyundai Creta retains its existing features without any additions. Notably, the South Korean automaker has strategically maintained the pricing of the base E 1.5 MPI MT variant and the two top-of-the-line SX (O) trims. Consequently, the Creta Facelift retains its entry price of Rs 10.99 lakh and peaks at Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
The price hike affects all petrol variants except for the base E 1.5 MPI MT and top-spec SX (O) 1.5 T-GDI DCT trims, which see a modest increase of Rs 3,500. The diesel variants experience a more substantial increase compared to their petrol counterparts. All diesel models, except for the top-spec SX (O) 1.5 CRDI AT and T-GDI DCT variants, witness a Rs 10,800 price hike. Consequently, the most affordable diesel trim now stands at Rs 12.55 lakh (ex-showroom), up from Rs 12.44 lakh (ex-showroom).
The facelifted Creta continues to offer three engine options. First is the 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces a maximum power output of 113 bhp and 144 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual or CVT. Another one is the 1.5-litre diesel unit that puts out 114 bhp with 250 Nm torque, offered with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic. And the third happens to be the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol that delivers 158 bhp / 253 Nm torque, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The Hyundai Creta competes with the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor and Volkswagen Taigun.
