Hyundai to Launch 4 New Cars in 2026-27 - Bayon to All-New i20

Hyundai to launch Bayon and a compact electric SUV in current financial year Next-gen Creta and i20 will arrive in 2027

Hyundai Motor India is preparing to launch 4 multi-segment products to regain its lost market share. These 4 products will be launched in late 2026 and 2027. The company will introduce a locally developed pure EV, a factory-fitted CNG SUV, a full strong hybrid SUV and the next-generation of its popular hatchback in our market.

Hyundai will launch an all-new electric compact SUV by Diwali 2026, followed by an all-new mid-size SUV, the next-gen Hyundai Bayon in early 2027. The next-generation Creta and i20 hatchback will arrive in 2027. Here is a detailed look at the four major new Hyundai cars heading to our market by mid 2027.

Hyundai Compact Electric SUV

The new compact electric SUV testing has already been commenced in India. This small SUV will be positioned against the likes of the Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV 3XO EV and others in the category. It will be built on a highly modified version of the K1 platform that also underpins the Hyundai Venue.

It is expected to be offered with two lithium-ion batteries, including a 42 kWh and a 49 kWh. The company would be aiming to deliver a realistic, real-world driving range of around 350 km to 400 km on a full charge. This upcoming electric SUV is designed and developed with India in mind; however, Hyundai will also export the new SUV to other global markets.

Hyundai Bayon

Hyundai has confirmed that it will launch an all-new midsize SUV in our market before the end of this financial year, by March 2027. This model will be the next-gen Hyundai Bayon, which has been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian roads. It will measure around 4.2 meters in length, and will sit right between the Venue and the Creta in Hyundai India lineup. The new Bayon will directly rival the Maruti Suzuki Victoris and others in the segment.

The new Hyundai Bayon will be powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that also powers the Creta and Carens Clavis. The Bayon is set to become the first Hyundai vehicle measuring above 4 meters in length to feature a dual-cylinder factory CNG kit. The SUV could also get a new 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo petrol engine, which is claimed to be hybrid ready.

Next-gen Hyundai Creta

Expected to be launched by mid-2027, the next-generation Hyundai Creta will come with radical design and interior changes. The SUV will grow in size, and will measure close to 4.5 meters in length, leaving enough space to accommodate the Bayon in the midsize SUV category. The SUV will be based on the new K3 platform, which also underpins the new Kia Seltos. The wheelbase is expected to measure around 2700mm, allowing Hyundai engineers to create more space inside the cabin.

Instead of the curvy shape of the current model, the 2027 Hyundai Creta adopts a bolder and boxier design with inspiration from Hyundai’s Crater Concept and the flagship Palisade. The SUV will retain the existing engine options, including a 1.5L NA petrol, a 1.5L turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo diesel. Moreover, the new Creta will come with a strong-hybrid powertrain.

Next-gen Hyundai i20

Hyundai has recently revealed the fourth-generation Hyundai i20 in Brazil. The hatchback has received a massive evolutionary makeover, featuring all-new design and modern cabin. Instead of sharp, aggressive character lines, the new model adopts cleaner, softer, and more mature design surfaces. The new-gen Hyundai i20 has a more upright, boxy stance complemented by thick cladding along the wheel arches and lower door sills.

The hatchback comes with high-tech cockpit, featuring dual 12.3-inch curved panoramic display for infotainment unit and digital instrument cluster. It comes with LEVEL 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) alongside six standard airbags. It is likely to be offered with a 1.2L NA and a 1.0L turbo petrol engine.
