JSW Combat and Renault Duster Hybrid Launching This Diwali 2026
JSW Combat will be a plug-in hybrid SUV Renault to announce prices of the Duster hybrid this Diwali
Two exciting new hybrid SUVs, the JSW Combat and the Renault Duster E-Tech, are set to arrive in our market this Diwali season. While JSW Motors is set to start its independent journey as a passenger vehicle maker with a feature-packed plug-in hybrid, Renault is deploying self-charging E-Tech hybrid system to its iconic nameplate, the Duster.
JSW Combat
JSW Motors is all set to launch an all-new plug-in hybrid SUV based on the global Chery Jetour T2. To be christened the “JSW Combat”, the new SUV will be a 5-seater SUV and will come as an alternative to the likes of the Honda ZR-V hybrid, Jeep Compass/Meridian and the Toyota Fortuner. The SUV will be locally assembled at JSW Motors manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. This PHEV will directly aim at high-end off-road enthusiasts wanting cleaner and efficient daily commuting with long-haul petrol flexibility.
1.5L Turbo PHEV Powertrain: It is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine clubbed with a dual electric motors and a 3-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (3HT). This engine offers a combined power and torque output of 350 PS and 610 Nm, respectively.
EV Driving Range: Featuring an 18.4 kWh battery pack, the SUV is claimed to offer up to 90 km of pure electric city driving. The hybrid setup offers a total combined cruising range of up to 1200 km on a single tank and charge.
Charging: Using a 50 kW DC fast charger, the battery can achieve 30% to 80% charging status in around 27 minutes. On the other hand, the battery can fully charge using a 6.6 kW AC charger in 3 hours.
Key Features: 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless smartphone connectivity, a 10.6-inch digital driver display, panoramic sunroof, 12-speaker audio system, ventilated front seats, 540-degree camera system and an ADAS suite with adaptive cruise control.
Renault Duster Hybrid
The Duster hybrid has already been sold out for 2026 production cycle, and bookings have been temporarily halted. We expect the Duster hybrid to cost around Rs 22 lakh - 25 lakh, ex-showroom. Built on the localised RGMP architecture, the Duster Hybrid balances signature 212 mm ground clearance with exceptional fuel economy.
E-Tech Hybrid Setup: it will get a 1.8-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine paired with twin electric motors and a 1.4 kWh battery pack, offering a combined power and torque output of 160hp and 172Nm,
City Efficiency: Due to regenerative braking and mule-mode hybrid gear mapping, Renault claims that the 80% of urban driving can be completed in electric mode.
Key Features: a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Google built-in, panoramic sunroof, digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, LEVEL 2 ADAS.
