The much-awaited Kia Carens Clavis EV has finally been revealed ahead of its official launch on 15th July 2025. The company has released a new video on its social media platform, revealing its design and interior features. The Clavis EV will be Kia’s first mass-market and locally developed electric vehicle in the Indian market.
The Kia Carens Clavis EV will be the first electric vehicle in its category to offer three row seating layout. It won’t have a direct rival in our market; however, the Clavis electric could come as a more practical alternative to MG Windsor EV.
The video teaser also confirms that the new Carens Clavis EV will have a claimed range of up to 490km, which is around 17km higher than the Creta Electric. It is expected that the new electric MPV will get the same 51.4kWh battery pack with a front-axle-mounted electric motor that is available with the Creta Electric.
Similar to the Hyundai Creta Electric, the Kia Carens Clavis EV is also likely to get a smaller 42kWh battery pack in the lower variants. It is expected to have a claimed range of around 400km on a single charge.
The teaser confirms that the Clavis EV will look identical to its ICE-powered version; however, it has some EV-specific design elements. The MPV gets a blanked off grille that houses a charging flap, and a 3-pod headlights in a triangular housing with LED daytime running lights. The lower bumper houses the same pixel-shaped fog lamps.
The silhouette remains the same, featuring the black plastic cladding around the wheel arches and on the lower door sections. The biggest upgrade is the addition of new aerodynamic alloy wheels. At the back, the Kia Carens Clavis EV gets connected LED tail-lights and a rugged bumper that has chrome accents to add premium feel.
The Kia Carens Clavis EV comes with dual-tone black and white colour interiors. The dashboard layout and seating configuration appears identical to the regular Carens. It comes with a redesigned centre console, which has more space compared to the regular ICE version.

The new Kia Carens Clavis EV is estimated to priced somewhere around Rs 16 lakh to Rs 23 lakh (ex-showroom, Pan-India). It won’t have a direct rival in our market; however, the Clavis EV could come a more practical alternative to the likes of the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG Windsor EV, Tata Curvv EV and others.
