We informed you earlier that the much-anticipated Kia Carens Clavis EV will be revealed in July this year. Now, we have the confirmed debut date. The electric MPV is all set to make its official debut in the Indian market on 15th July, 2025.
This will be Kia’s first locally produced electric vehicle in the Indian market. Adding to it, the Carens Clavis EV will be the first 3-row electric vehicle in its segment. We expect the new model to go on sale in the country in August 2025; however, exact launch details are yet to be announced.
The new Carens Clavis EV is likely to share the battery pack with the Creta Electric, which is available with two battery capacities - 42 kWh and 51.3 kWh. The smaller battery pack comes with a 135hp front-axle-mounted electric motor and offers a range of 390km, while the bigger battery pack gets the 171hp electric motor. The electric SUV offers a range of up to 473km.
The new Clavis electric MPV will look similar to the Carens Clavis; however, it will get some EV-specific design changes. The front styling is likely to be inspired by the global Kia EVs including the EV9 and EV3. It will have a blanked-off grille, and reworked LED headlamps and DRLs, and a front-fender mounted charging pot.
The electric MPV will come with an aero-optimised alloy wheels, a revised tailgate with an updated tail-lights connected via a light bar, and a new rear bumper. The cabin will appear largely identical to the standard Carens Clavis. It will have a dual HD screens for infotainment and driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, electrically adjustable driver’s seat and others.
The electric MPV will be equipped with LEVEL 2 ADAS suite with features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane assist, and others. It will have front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree surround view camera, and recline and slide function for second row seats.
