KIA Seltos Facelift: What We Know So Far

Kia Motors is all set to unveil the new Seltos in India on July 4. This is the first major facelift for the compact SUV since its launch in 2019. It will get a refreshed exterior, updated interior, and new powertrain options. Here’s all we know about the Seltos facelift so far.

Kia Seltos Facelift: Exterior Design Refresh

The South Korean automaker is giving the Seltos a major exterior refresh for 2023. The new model will look distinctively different from the outgoing model.

The front end features a new grille, all-new LED headlight assembly with new LED signature. Also, the standard and performance line models will get different front bumpers to distinguish them.

Moving to the side, the profile stays fairly similar to the current model, except for new alloy wheels. At the rear, the Seltos facelift gets a redesigned bumper with a full-width LED light bar connecting the taillights. The rear bumper has also been tweaked as well and now gets a large faux silver skid plate.

On the inside, the 2023 Seltos facelift will receive a thorough overhaul. There will be new upholstery and colours to distinguish the GT models. Recently, leaked spy shots have given us what it will look like as well. According to the images, the central AC vents are sleeker than before to accommodate the dual 10.25-inch displays for the infotainment system and instrument console.

In terms of features, key highlights include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, 360-degree camera, premium audio setup and more. The Seltos facelift will also become the second Kia vehicle to be sold in India that gets ADAS-tech. It will get features like Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Forward Collision Alert.

Kia Seltos Facelift: New Turbo-Petrol Option

Earlier this year, Kia discontinued its 1.4-litre turbo-petrol motor as it did not meet the new BS6 Phase II norms. With the facelift, the brand will introduce a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that pumps out 160 bhp with 253 Nm of peak torque. It will be mated to a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.

The Seltos facelift will also offer a 1.5-litre N/A petrol engine or a 1.5-litre turbodiesel motor. The former churns out 115 bhp with 144 Nm of peak torque whereas the diesel unit makes 116 bhp with 250 Nm of max torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed torque converter automatic, or an IVT automatic gearbox.

Kia Seltos Facelift: To Cost More Than Current Model

Prices for the Seltos currently range from Rs 10.89 lakh (ex-showroom) - Rs 19.65 lakh (ex-showroom). Since the new Seltos receives a major update as well as a number of new features, expect Kia to price it around Rs 1 lakh higher than the outgoing model.
