Kia Motors has just revealed a voluntary recall involving 4358 units of the Kia Seltos. The recall is due to a possible concern with the electronic oil pump controller within the vehicle's CVT gearbox, which may affect the electronic oil pump's performance. The models recalled are the ones manufactured between the 28th of February to the 13th of July 2023.
Please Note: The manufacturer is actively reaching out to customers to replace the defective parts in the impacted vehicles. If you haven't received communication from the automaker, please visit the nearest dealership to have your vehicle inspected.
The impacted IVT variants come equipped with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This power plant delivers a maximum power output of 115 bhp with 144 Nm of peak torque. Moreover, the Kia Seltos offers a selection between a 116 bhp, 1.5-litre diesel engine or a 160 bhp, 1.5-litre turbo petrol motor.
Currently, Kia Seltos is available in seven variants namely HTE, HTK, HTK+ HTX, HTX+, GTX+(S), and GTX+. Prices for the SUV starts from Rs 10.89 lakh to Rs 19.97 lakh (ex-showroom).
The brand also offers X Line(S) and X-Line trims having a price tag of Rs 19.59 lakh and Rs 20.29 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.
Competing in the compact SUV segment, the Kia Seltos faces off against various models such as the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Hyundai Creta Facelift, Skoda Kushaq, Tata Harrier, Volkswagen Taigun, and MG Astor.
