The long-awaited Kia Syros is scheduled to make global debut on December 19, 2024. Prices of the new SUV expected to be released in January 2025, most probably at the Bharat Mobility Show. Ahead of the official reveal, select Kia dealers have started accepting unofficial bookings for the Syros SUV.
Media reports suggest that the new Kia Syros will come in six trim levels - HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX+, and HTX+ (O). The new model will be marketed as a lifestyle SUV; however, it will continue to be a front-wheel-drive model. The new Syros will come with two powertrain options - a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel.
The 1.0L 3-cylinder engine is capable of producing 118bhp and 172Nm of torque, while the oil burner is good for 114bhp and 250Nm of torque. The turbo petrol engine can be offered with manual, 7-speed DCT and iMT gearbox options. On the other hand, the diesel engine will be paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
The new-gen Kia Syros will come equipped with dual-screen setup comprising of a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and a 12.3-inch digital driver's display. The infotainment unit will be compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In terms of features, the new Syros will receive multi-zone climate control, Harman Kardon-sourced eight-speakers sound system, electrically adjustable front seats with ventilation function, and a dedicated 5-inch screen for AC controls.
The new Kia Syros will come with versatile rear seat, which will have slidable and recline functions. Adding to it, the SUV is reportedly to offer ventilation function for the second-row seats. It is likely to receive Level 2 ADAS suite with features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, auto high beam, lane-keeping assist and many more. The SUV will also receive a 360-degree surround view camera and electronic parking brake. It will be offered with two sunroof options - a single-pane sunroof and panoramic sunroof.
