The Syros will be come in six trims and eight colour options. There are two engines on offer – turbo petrol and diesel. Both engines are available with manual and automatic gearboxes. The compact SUV will go on sale in January, 2025.
The Kia Syros compact SUV recently had its world premiere in India. It’s the second sub-4-meter SUV offering from the South Korean automaker and will directly compete against cars like the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon, and the upcoming Skoda Kushaq. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Kia compact SUV:

The carmaker has confirmed that bookings for the Syros will open on January 3rd, followed by its public debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Show in New Delhi. The Auto Expo will begin on January 17th, and the prices for the Syros are expected to be revealed at the event. Deliveries might begin in the first few weeks of February.
The new Kia compact SUV model lineup comes in six trims: HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+, and HTX+ (O). The petrol manual and petrol DCT combinations are offered with the HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, and HTX+ variants, respectively. The HTX, HTK+, and HTK (O) trims can also be had with the diesel manual combinations, while the HTX+ (O) and HTX+ trims come with diesel-automatic options.
The carmaker is offering eight monotone color schemes: Sparkling Silver, Frost Blue, Intense Red, Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, Gravity Grey, Aurora Black Pearl, and Glacier White Pearl.
The overall length, width, and height of the new Kia compact SUV stand at 3,995mm, 1,800mm, and 1,665mm, respectively. With a wheelbase of 2,550mm and a well-packed interior, it offers one of the most spacious cabins in its segment. The tall-boy stance also provides ample headroom for all occupants. The Syros offers a boot space of 465 liters, which is more than the Sonet.
The Syros is offered with two engines: a 1.0L T-GDi petrol and a 1.5L CRDi VGT diesel, delivering 120bhp with 172Nm and 116bhp with 250Nm, respectively. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual (standard), a 6-speed torque converter automatic (only with the diesel motor), and a 7-speed DCT automatic (only with the turbo petrol engine). The higher-trim automatic variants also get paddle shifters.
Kia has packed its all-new compact SUV with several segment-first features, including ventilated and adjustable rear seats, ambient lighting with 64 colors, side parking sensors, digital AC control unit, and flush-type door handles. It also offers dual 12.3-inch displays for the infotainment and instrument cluster, a 5-inch screen for the climate control, a wireless charging pad, a new two-spoke steering wheel, an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, all four ventilated seats, in-car connectivity tech, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, reclining and sliding second-row seats with a center armrest, OTA updates for the infotainment unit, 60:40 split-folding seats, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a powered driver’s seat, and more.

On the safety front, the new Kia compact SUV offers six airbags, hill-start assist control, front and rear parking sensors, ISOFIX rear anchors, a front passenger airbag on/off switch and indicator, child locks, front and rear three-point seat belts with reminders, etc. The major highlight of its safety kit is the Level 1 ADAS tech with 16 autonomous features, such as lane-keeping assist, parking collision avoidance assist, forward collision warning and avoidance assist, and more.
The Syros is expected to be priced more premium than the Sonet by nearly Rs 1 lakh. Currently, the Sonet’s base variant costs Rs 8 lakh, and the top-end trim is priced at Rs 15.77 lakh.
