The Mahindra XEV 7e will be the third born-electric SUV offering from the indigenous automaker in the country. It will be the electric iteration of the XUV700 SUV and a response to the upcoming Tata Safari EV. The launch timeline for this new Mahindra electric SUV is yet to be revealed. It’s estimated to be priced from Rs 20.9 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. Let’s take a closer look at all the key details of the XEV 7e (electric Mahindra XUV700) that we know so far.
The carmaker hasn’t disclosed any details about the product yet. However, it’s expected to share its powertrain with the Mahindra XEV 9e, which will be showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. The XEV 9e comes with two battery options – 59kWh and 79kWh – delivering a claimed range (MIDC) of 542km and 656km, respectively. Both batteries are paired with an electric motor and come with an RWD drivetrain system. The smaller battery pack offers a maximum power of 231PS and 380Nm of torque, while the larger battery delivers 286PS and 380Nm of torque. While the XEV 9e currently lacks an AWD system, the upcoming Mahindra XEV 7e could offer AWD as an option.
Interior elements will also be shared with the Mahindra XEV 9e, as revealed by leaked images. The XEV 7e is likely to feature a dual-tone Black and White interior theme with piano black inserts on the center console. It will include a triple-screen setup for the infotainment system, driver’s display, and passenger display. There will also be a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo.
Similar to Mahindra’s new generation of EVs, the XEV 7e will come equipped with features such as Level 2 ADAS technology, powered and ventilated front seats with a memory function, a premium sound system, a panoramic sunroof, multi-zone AC, and more.
Most of its design elements are inspired by the XEV 9e. The Mahindra XEV 7e borrows the split headlamp setup, L-shaped connected LED DRLs, and blacked-out grille from its EV sibling. The SUV also features wraparound LED taillamps, similar to the ICE-powered XUV700.
