It is no secret that Kia is preparing the next-gen Seltos SUV, which is reportedly to launch in 2026. The Korean media reports that the new gen Kia Seltos will be officially revealed in the first half of 2026, most probably around January or April. However, the new Kia Seltos could make its official debut in India before the end of this year.
The second generation Kia Seltos is currently under its final stages of testing. If reports are to be believed, the new model could be revealed in India sometime in November 2025. However, Kia is yet to make an official announcement on the same. The launch could take place sometime in early next year.
The Kia Seltos has been the brand’s second best-selling SUV globally, and with the second-gen model will be launched in several international markets. The SUV has already been caught testing wearing production-ready body panels.
Recent spy shots reveal the uniquely designed headlamps in square-shape complemented by orange colour DRLs; however, this model is for the American market. The SUV is not likely to receive the connected LED daytime running lamps.
The second generation Kia Seltos will have an aggressive front fascia, featuring two part grille separated by a broad bar. Instead of a rounded profile, the next-gen Kia Seltos will have a boxier design with upright nose, flatter roof and straight lines. The rear will also witness a completely redesigned profile, featuring new tail-lamps with LED inserts and an aggressive lower bumper with strong cladding. The spy images reveal that the SUV gets an entirely new tailgate that houses a 360-degree surround view camera, and the license plate on the lower bumper.
The second-gen Kia Seltos will continue to offer premium interiors with several high-end comfort and convenience features. It is likely to get a newly designed dashboard with soft touch leatherette finish, and a large 30-inch Trinity Display. The connected screen comprising a 12.3-inch infotainment unit, a 12.3-inch instrument panel and a 5-inch unit for climate control.
Key Features likely to include leatherette seats, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, powered driver and co-driver seats, dual-zone climate control, LEVEL 2 ADAS, 360-degree surround view camera, and front and rear parking sensors.
The new Kia Seltos will initially come with the existing powertrain choices - a 1.5L NA petrol, a 1.5L turbo petrol and a 1.5L diesel. The SUV will also receive a hybrid engine, which is likely to join the line-up at a later stage. As per Kia officials, the next-gen Seltos hybrid will only arrive in 2027.
While the global-spec model is likely to get a new 1.6L GDR hybrid engine with an e-AWD option, the India-spec model is likely to get a 1.5L NA petrol engine based hybrid tech.
