Mahindra will introduce a brand-new SUV platform on August 15, 2025, which also marks India’s 78th Independence Day. This news was shared during the company’s latest financial update. The new platform will be used for a fresh lineup of SUVs, starting with what many believe will be the next-generation Mahindra Bolero.
This new SUV base is expected to be called the New Flexible Architecture (NFA). It’s a modern platform that can support different types of engines—petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric. Reports suggest this setup will help Mahindra meet future vehicle trends and emission rules.
The updated Mahindra Bolero, expected to launch in 2026, will likely be the first model to use this new platform. An electric version of the Bolero (Bolero EV) is also expected to arrive the same year. This shows Mahindra’s plan to move towards electric vehicles.
In 2026, Mahindra is also planning two facelift models and one all-new model, which could include the new Bolero and its EV version.
These new NFA-based vehicles will be made at Mahindra’s advanced Chakan plant. This plant will be able to produce 1.2 lakh (120,000) vehicles every year. Mahindra also plans to build a brand-new factory by 2028 to support more electric and regular vehicles.
Mahindra also plans to increase production of its newer SUVs—the Thar Roxx and XUV 3XO—by 3,000 units per year in 2026. This shows the company’s strong focus on both adventure and city SUVs.
