Mahindra & Mahindra, the homegrown automaker is preparing to give a mid-life upgrade to XUV700 and Thar 3-door, both spotted testing multiple times. Adding to it, the company will launch an all-electric XEV 7e or XUV700 electric sometime in the first quarter of 2026. The Mahindra XUV700 facelift will share most of its changes with the latest XEV 9e and the upcoming XEV 7e.
It was speculated that the Mahindra XUV700 facelift will arrive in our market before the end of this year. However, our sources reveal that the upgraded XUV700 will only arrive in the early parts of Q1, 2026. A possible launch in January can’t be ignored.

The XUV700 facelift will come with significantly revised cabin with several design elements shared with the XEV 9e. The SUV will come with a triple screen dashboard, which is confirmed from various spy shots on INTERNET. The connected screen houses a central infotainment unit, an instrument panel and a co-occupant entertainment screen.
Another big update is likely to be an upgraded and more premium sound system. The current model comes with Sony speakers, which sounds pretty decent. Mahindra will take this to another level, as the XUV700 facelift is most likely to get Harman/Kardon speakers. We expect the SUV to get 16 speakers with 1440W peak output along with Dolby Atmos audio tech for an immersive sound experience.
The XUV700 facelift is also likely to get a six-seater version with captain seats in the second-row. The six-seater model is also expected to receive ventilated seats. The XUV700 facelift is also expected to get an auto dimming IRVM. Similar to the Mahindra XEV 9e, the 7-seater XUV700 could get an ADAS LEVEL-2+ system along with self parking features, and front parking sensors.
The Mahindra XUV700 facelift will come with cosmetic design changes, which will draw inspiration from XEV 9e. It will come with a revised front grille and an upgraded bumper, and new LED headlamp setup with an updated C-shaped LED DRLs signature.
The side profile appears largely identical to the current model, except for the new set of alloy wheels. At the back, the XUV700 facelift is expected to get a new bumper, and an updated tail-lights.
Mahindra won’t make any changes under the hood, as it will continue to be offered with the 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel engine. While the former is good for 197bhp and 380Nm of torque, the oil burner produces 182bhp and 450Nm of torque. Gearbox duties will be handled by a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit.
