Next-gen Seltos is likely to launch in India sometime in early 2026. The SUV is expected to get a petrol-hybrid engine. The test mule of New Seltos has been spied testing recently in South Korea.
The Korean automaker, Kia has been caught testing the next-gen Seltos in its home market. Previously, this SUV was spied in India as well. With another sighting, it seems to have a striking headlamp design and other new design details. Apart from that, it is expected that the new Seltos could get a new petrol-hybrid engine. Let's get more insights!
With the recent sighting and the previous one, the test mule was seen with heavy camouflage. Yet, we can make out an LED lighting pattern in the headlamps and tail lamps. This next-gen Seltos test mule hints towards an H-pattern DRL with three illuminated vertical slats in the grille area.
The back of the SUV seems to get a new LED lighting strip that joins the two tail lamps, similar to the EV5. The overall dimensions will be similar and the same platform as the existing model.
As for the engine, the new Seltos is expected to have the existing engine options: the 1.5-litre petrol (both turbo and naturally aspirated are available) and the 1.5-litre diesel. It is rumored in the international market the Kia will offer a new 1.6-litre petrol-hybrid engine with an electric motor on the rear axle of the Seltos.
It has not been confirmed by the brand whether this SUV will come to India or not. However, it was previously suggested that Kia is considering hybrids for India.
Kia has yet to make any announcement for the global debut of the all-new Seltos, though it is expected in the second quarter of 2025. As for the launch in India, it is likely to be sometime in early 2026.
