Nissan Tekton India Launch - Premium Look and Hybrid Tech

Nissan Tekton could join India’s mid-size SUV segment soon. Premium design, modern interiors, and hybrid tech expected. Competes with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Renault Duster.

Nissan Motor India is gearing up to expand its SUV lineup with the Nissan Tekton, a mid-size SUV based on the Renault Duster. This upcoming SUV will mark Nissan’s entry into India’s competitive C-segment. it is likley to launch in July 2026.

 

Premium Design with Distinct Identity

 

The Nissan Tekton will share its overall silhouette with the Renault Duster, but will feature unique styling to set it apart. At the front, the grille is expected to be larger and finished with chrome accents, giving the SUV a more premium appearance. It will also sport LED-connected DRLs and matching tail lamps, while body-colored elements and a subtle bull-bar design help distinguish it from the rugged Duster.

 

The SUV is likely to retain traditional SUV proportions with a tall, upright stance. New 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 225-section tyres are expected, adding a more refined and modern touch to the profile. Ground clearance is anticipated to remain around 212 mm, making it capable for urban and occasional off-road use.

Interiors and Features

 

Inside, the Tekton is expected to offer a refreshed dashboard layout with updated materials and modern colour themes. Key features could include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google built-in, a 10.25-inch TFT instrument cluster, dual-zone automatic climate control, powered and ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, and powered tailgate.

 

Safety is likely to remain a strong point, with Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree cameras, auto headlights, and automatic wipers included across higher trims.

 

Engine and Hybrid Options

 

The Tekton will likely mirror the Duster’s powertrain lineup. Base trims could get a 1.0L turbo petrol engine, while higher trims may feature a 1.3L turbo petrol engine. In addition, a hybrid variant combining a 1.8L petrol engine with a 1.4 kWh battery pack is expected, offering better efficiency and reduced emissions.

 

What to Expect in India

 

While Nissan has not officially confirmed the Indian launch date, the Tekton is expected to arrive in the country soon. With its updated design, premium touches, and hybrid technology, it is likely to compete with popular mid-size SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Renault Duster.
