Nissan Tekton launch by mid-2026 Patrol to come as a flagship offering Tekton based 7-seater SUV arriving in 2027
After introducing the Gravite, Nissan India is preparing to launch 3 new SUVs in the Indian market in the near future. The company will soon introduce the much-awaited Tekton mid-size SUV, which is based on the new Duster’s RGMP platform. Moreover, a new 7-seater SUV based on the Tekton platform will arrive sometime in 2027. Nissan is also planning to launch its hugely popular Patrol full-sized SUV as a flagship offering in India.

The Tekton is the second product of the Renault-Nissan JV’s revival plan with two more 7-seater SUV arriving based on the Renault Global Modular Platform. While it shares mechanics with the new Renault Duster, the Tekton is visually different, with design inspired by the global Nissan Patrol. It comes with an aggressive front design, 18-inch diamond-cut alloys, connected LED bar at the back with C-clamp signature.
The Nissan Tekton will have a triple-tone dashboard with premium copper accents and gloss black finishes. It will come with a connected curved display for infotainment and digital driver’s display, along with an 8-speaker sound system. In terms of features, the SUV will get a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, automatic AC and LEVEL 2 ADAS tech.
Engine Options
1.0L Turbo Petrol: Producing 100hp and 160Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox
1.3L Turbo Petrol: 163hp and 280Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed DCT.
1.8L Strong Hybrid: Combined power output of 160hp, expected fuel economy of around 23-25kmpl
Nissan will launch a 7-seater SUV based on the RGMP platform, and is expected to be launched in the first half of 2027. The SUV will be powered by a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.8L strong hybrid engine. The SUV will have a longer wheelbase than the Tekton, and is expected to measure around 4.5-4.6 meters in length. Some of the features and body panels will be shared with the upcoming Renault Bigster 7-seater SUV.
Nissan is exploring the possibility of bringing the Patrol to India as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) model. The company will use India’s homologation-free import limit, which allows up to 2,500 vehicles per year. Nissan has also discussed the Patrol with its dealer partners in India, and their response is positive. The SUV could be launched towards the end of this year or early next year.
This body-on-frame SUV is available with two engine choices - a 3.8L V6 and a 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6. While the former is good for 316hp and 386Nm of torque, the twin-turbo unit produces 425hp and 700Nm. Both engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. It offers six drive modes - Rock, Sand, Mud, Standard, Eco and Sport.
