Tata Motors recently took the spotlight with the official launch of the Harrier EV. A special “Quad Day” event was also held at the Buddh International Circuit where we saw wide media coverage and participation from Tata EV owners. Now, the brand is working on its next big move—a bold Dark Edition of the Harrier EV.
Just weeks after the debut of the Harrier EV, Tata Motors has started developing the Dark Edition, which is expected to arrive later in 2025. The new dark edition will be available across all major trims, including the Fearless+, Fearless+ A, and Empowered variants. It will also be offered in both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) setups, as well as with both 65kWh and 75kWh battery packs.
Like Tata’s earlier Dark Editions, the Harrier EV Dark Edition will feature a full black exterior paint scheme, blacked-out alloy wheels, and a unique Dark Edition badge on the tailgate. The cabin will follow suit with an all-black theme, replacing the dual-tone interior seen on current models.
In terms of features, no major changes are expected. Buyers can still enjoy top-tier features such as dual-zone climate control, JBL sound system, powered front seats with boss function, 360-degree camera with transparent bonnet, Level 2 ADAS, auto park assist, and connected car technology, especially in the Empowered 75 AWD variant.
The Harrier EV will continue to offer the same powertrain options. It comes with three configurations:
- 65kWh battery with a certified range of 538km (real-world range: 420-445km)
- 75kWh RWD battery offering up to 627km (real-world range: 480-505km)
- 75kWh AWD setup with 622km on paper (real-world range: 460-490km)
Power figures remain the same, with the RWD version producing 235bhp and 315Nm, while the AWD variant gets an additional motor, producing a combined 391bhp and 504Nm of torque.
Tata Motors is likely to price the Dark Edition at a premium of around Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 over the standard Harrier EV variants. The standard Harrier EV currently starts at Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
