Tata Motors has officially launched the much-awaited Harrier EV at an introductory price tag of Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Pan India). Complete price list of the SUV is expected to be released on July 2, as the bookings will open on the same day. At the launch event, Tata Motors has also showcased the Harrier EV STEALTH Edition.
Tata Motors has confirmed that the Harrier EV Stealth Edition will also go on sale in the Indian market. It is a more striking and sportier looking version of the regular model, finished in an exclusive Stealth Black hue. Besides Stealth Black, the Tata Harrier EV is available in 4 colour options - Nainital Nocturne, Empowered Oxide, Pristine White, and Pure Grey.
The new Harrier.ev Stealth variant is finished in unique matte black paint scheme, which makes it look different from the glossy finished variants. This paint scheme gives it a premium and aggressive appearance.
The interiors of the Harrier EV Stealth complements its exterior. It also follows an all-black interior theme with contrasting trims including glossy black scheme on different body panels.
The STEALTH Edition is likely to be based on the top-spec Harrier EV variants. It will come with newly designed 19-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels, which looks cool and also contributes to its aerodynamic efficiency for improved range.
The overall styling looks similar to the regular Harrier EV variants, featuring a closed-off grille with an LED light bar running across the front, newly styled bumpers with vertical slats, LED connected tail-lights and EV badging.
The Harrier EV is available with two battery packs - 65kWh with RWD and 75kWh with both RWD and dual-motor QWD (Quad-Wheel-Drive) setups. It is expected that the Harrier EV Stealth will get the 75kWh battery with dual-motor setup for all-wheel drive capabilities.
The rear-axle-mounted electric motor is rated at 235bhp, while the front-axle mounted electric motor delivers 156bhp. The combined power and torque output stands at 391bhp and 504Nm, respectively. The EV comes with 4 drive modes - Eco, City, Sport and Boost, and 6 Terrain modes - Normal, Snow/Grass, Mud-Ruts, Sand, Rock Crawl and Custom.
The Harrier EV is claimed to offer an ARAI certified (MIDC Cycle) range of 627km, which is equivalent to its direct rivals including Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e. The company claims the SUV will offer 480-505km of realistic range, which is quite impressive.
The SUV supports fast charging up to 120kW. Using a 120kW DC fast charger, the battery can achieve 20% to 80% charging status in just 25 minutes. Adding to it, the battery can be added with 250km of range in just 15 minutes. With 7.2kW AC charger, the battery can achieve 10 to 100% charging status in 10.7 hours.
The Stealth Edition is based on the top-spec variants of the regular Harrier EV. We expect the new Harrier EV Stealth to cost somewhere around Rs 27-28 lakh, ex-showroom.
