Tata Sierra EV Coming Within 9 Days – All Key Details You Should Know

Tata Sierra EV teased ahead of June 30 debut. Expected with 500+ range and AWD options.

Tata Motors is all set to introduced its seventh electric car for the Indian market – the Tata Sierra EV. The midsize electric SUV, which will make its official debut on June 30, has been teased for the first time. The teaser image suggests that the production-ready stays true to the concept, which was first showcased in 2020 at the Auto Expo.

Design & Dimensions

Tata Sierra EV Front Design

Upfront, the Tata Sierra EV features sleek LED headlamps, connected LED DRLs, a closed-off grille, vertically positioned LED fog lamps with cornering lamps and a clamshell bonnet. The massive silver elements on the lower section of the front bumper looks similar to the ICE counterpart. Other design highlights will include blacked-out A and C-pillars, 19-inch aero-optimized alloy wheels and squared-off with connected LED taillamps.

The overall dimensions of the Sierra EV are expected to be identical to the ICE-powered version, which measures 4,340mm in length, 1,841mm in width and 1,751mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,730mm.

Interior & Features

While interior details are still under the wraps, the Tata Sierra EV is likely to share a strong resemblance with its ICE counterpart. In terms of features, the EV is likely to offer a triple screen setup including a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch front passenger screen. Other highlights are likely to include powered and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, multiple drive modes, a premium audio system and more.

Powertrain Specs

Similar to the Harrier EV, the upcoming Tata Sierra EV is expected to feature the “Ultra Glide” suspension setup, comprising an independent multi-link rear suspension and Frequency Selective Dampers (FSD). The powertrain options are also likely to be borrowed from the Tata Harrier EV, which is available with 65kWh and 75kWh battery packs. The EV will be available with both RWD and AWD drivetrain options.

Rivals & Price Prediction

When launched, the Tata Sierra EV will compete directly with the Mahindra BE 6, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Hyundai Creta Electric and MG ZS EV. While the official prices will be announced in the coming days, the new Tata midsize electric SUV is estimated to be priced between Rs 20 lakh – Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).
