Tata Motors has been planning on expanding its SUV lineup in India. The automaker is reviving a popular name as the latest addition to this SUV line, Sierra. The brand showcased the model this year at Auto Expo in January. Now, a leaked design patent of the production version has been surfacing on the internet. So, let's have a look at what the image is revealing on the design.
As per the leaked image, it seems that the Sierra SUV will have a boxy design with a prominent front fascia. This gives the SUV a very high bonnet illusion along with an LED strip covering the width of the vehicle which is enhanced by piano black elements and polygonal design for the headlamps.
For the side profile, the car is revealed to have big wheel arches with a newly designed alloy wheel and flush door handles. Moreover, the SUV in the design patent gets a straight beltline to enhance its off-road appeal. Moving further to the rear end, it gets a floating roof effect reminiscent of the original Sierra.
For the interior, the SUV is likely to feature a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and more. In terms of safety, the Sierra is expected to include a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, multiple airbags, and more.
The automaker is likely to offer its new 1.5-litre Hyperion turbo petrol engine in the Sierra ICE. Besides this, a 2.0-litre diesel engine option could be borrowed from the Harrier.
