Tata Safari is expected to get a 1.5l turbo petrol unit. The launch of this new engine option is likely by the end of 2025. The design and features of the model could remain the same.
Tata Motors is expected to launch a new engine option for the Safari model. Not only that, but the other models, Harrier and Sierra would be getting this expected engine update. In 2023 at the Auto Expo, the automaker showcased two new turbo petrol engines that feature an aluminum structure for reduced weight and increased rigidity. Here is a closer look at what petrol engine is likely to make its launch in the Safari SUV by the end of 2025.
The brand is expected to offer a larger 1.5l turbo petrol unit with dual-clutch auto and manual transmission. It claims to deliver up to 170 bhp which would be similar to the Mahindra Thar Roxx and 280 Nm of torque.
More confirmed and specific information on the petrol engine is yet to be stated by the automaker officially.
Apart from the expected engine updates, the SUV could be the same in terms of design, interior layout, and features.
The ongoing Safari model features a bold and muscular design with a sculpted hood, chrome-finished grille, sleek projector headlamps, LED DRLs, and a skid plate. As for inside the cabin, it offers a 10-inch touchscreen JBL infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
The engine that the buyers get in the current model is a single 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
