Tata Sierra EV launch expected by May 2026 New Tiago and Tiago EV facelift launch by Diwali
In a bid to strengthen its 2nd position further, the homegrown passenger vehicle maker, Tata Motors is planning to launch new models and upgrades of existing cars in the Indian market. Following the strategy of covering everything from budget-friendly hatchbacks to iconic flagship revivals, the brand is set to launch 3 pivotal models by Diwali 2026.
Here is the breakdown of the Top 3 Tata Cars launching by Diwali 2026 -

Tata Motors has confirmed that the long-awaited Sierra EV will arrive in our market in Q2, 2026, most probably in May. It will be based on the Acti.ev platform that also underpins the Curvv EV and Punch EV. It will be a front-wheel-drive SUV, but the higher-spec model is also expected to get a dual-motor AWD setup. The electric Sierra will take on the likes of the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric and Maruti Suzuki e Vitara.
The Tata Sierra EV is likely to be offered with two battery packs, including a 55kWh from Curvv EV and 65kWh from Harrier EV. We expect the new Sierra EV to offer a realistic range of around 400-450km on a single charge. It will look largely identical to the ICE-powered Sierra. The new Sierra EV will feature a triple screen dashboard comprising a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a 12.3-inch co-occupant screen and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. Key features include ventilated and powered front seats, electronic parking brake with auto hold as standard, all-4 disc brakes, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, LEVEL 2 ADAS, LED lighting setup and others.
Tata Motors has started testing the new Tiago and Tiago EV facelifts on the Indian roads. Both models were caught covered in thick cloth, revealing limited information on the possible changes. Going by the media reports, the updated hatchback is expected to receive significant changes. The ICE powered model is expected to get new headlamps, LED DRLs, a revised front grille and new lower bumper. Other changes could include new fog lamp housing, new ORVMs and new tail-lights.
The EV version will have a blanked-off front grille and connected DRLs at the front. The top-spec model is also likely to get a 360-degree surround view camera. Inside the cabin, the new Tiago EV is likely to get a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen, new steering wheel with illuminated logo, new instrument console and new rear view camera.
The Tata Tiago EV is likely to get a bigger battery pack, which will have more prismatic battery cells similar to the ones offered with the 2026 Punch EV facelift. The current model is offered with two battery choices - 19.2kWh and 24kWh. The ICE model will continue to be offered with the same 1.2L 3-cylinder NA petrol engine and its i-CNG version.
