The new Urban BEV concept is based on Suzuki’s e-HEARTECT platform To rival Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV and Mahindra BE 6 It comes with two battery packs, FWD and AWD setup
The Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV concept has been showcased today in India at the 2nd edition of Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi. It was last showcased in 2023 and later globally unveiled as the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV in December 2024.
Let's have a look at what this concept showcased by Toyota on a deeper level.
The overall silhouette/outer body of the Urban Cruiser BEV concept is the same as the e Vitara, though it still gets a different-looking fascia. For the interior features, two-spoke steering wheels with controls, square AC vents and gloss black elements across the dashboard with slight theme changes to separate the two. It was spotted with a charging port right on the front wheel arch, alloy wheels, and rear door handles.
As for the safety, the concept is expected with multiple airbags and ADAS features such as lane keep assist and cruise control. Other expected safety features include a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system(TPMS) and electronic stability control (ESC).
The Urban BEV Concept is expected to have two battery packs of 49 kWh (142.03 bhp and 189 torque) and 61 kWh (171.62 bhp with 189 torque and 181 bhp with 189 torque).
The Toyota urban cruiser BEV concept is expected to feature a maximum range of over 550 km.
If there is any production-spec for the Urban EV SUV concept, it is expected to be around Rs 18 lakh.
