Maruti Suzuki has recently launched the Victoris mid-sized SUV, which is retailed through the ARENA dealership network. The Maruti Suzuki Victoris is loaded with several high-end features which are missing in all Maruti cars on sale in India. With over 3,000 ARENA dealerships, MSIL is hoping to achieve high sales numbers in the mid-sized SUV category dominated by Hyundai Creta. However, two brand new mid-sized SUVs from Tata Motors and Renault are launching within 4-5 months.
While Tata Motors will launch the Sierra lifestyle SUV, Renault will bring back the hugely popular Duster nameplate. These two SUVs will directly challenge the dominance of Creta and will rival the likes of the Maruti Victoris, Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos and others.

Tata Motors will launch the ICE-powered Sierra lifestyle SUV in the first quarter of 2026. The new SUV will be a 4.3-4.4 meter long SUV, which makes it a direct rival to the recently launched Maruti Victoris. It will be marketed as a lifestyle SUV with boxy and rugged looks. The SUV will offer massive road presence and appears bigger than its rivals.
The Sierra will come with multiple powertrains, including a new 1.5L, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol. Adding to it, the SUV will also get a new 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo petrol and a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo diesel engine.
The Sierra will come with triple screen dash comprising a central infotainment unit, a digital instrument panel and a co-occupant entertainment screen. In terms of features, the SUV will have a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, HUD, dual-zone climate control, powered tailgate, LEVEL 2 ADAS and others.

The French automaker, Renault will launch the third generation Duster SUV in the country before the end of this financial year. Production of the SUV is expected to commence soon at Renault’s Chennai based plant, while launch is expected in January 2026. It will be based on Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-B modular platform, which will also underpin a new 7-seater SUV.
The SUV will be powered by a 1.3L turbocharged petrol engine with manual and dual-clutch automatic gearbox choices. The entry-level variant could also get a 1.5L NA petrol or a 1.0L 3-cylinder, turbo petrol engine. Renault will also launch the hybrid version of the Duster, but in late 2026 or early 2027.
In terms of features, the third-gen Renault Duster gets a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, powered driver’s seat, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, LEVEL 2 ADAS and many more.
