Hyundai is planning to introduce the Creta facelift in India by early next year. The Korean automaker is currently busy testing the mid-size SUV, with test mules already spotted multiple times. Now, the latest spy shots have revealed some of the design elements of the upcoming model.
Globally, the Creta already received a facelift back in 2021. But this updated model never made it to the Indian market. Instead, as per media reports we will receive a fresh facelift with styling cues inspired from the Palisade SUV. We take a closer look.
While the test mule in the latest spy shots is clad in heavy camouflage, one can notice the new design changes on the Creta facelift. The front end features a vertical split headlight cluster and LED DRLs. It will also get an all-new grille design inspired by Palisade’s grille. Moving to the sides, the profile will largely stay similar to the current model but is expected to receive a new set of alloy wheels. The rear end of the vehicle is likely to provide a redesigned boot lid, new LED taillights with a full-width lightbar, and a tweaked bumper.
On the inside, Hyundai is expected to pack the upcoming compact SUV with a lot of features. Key highlights would include the introduction of the ADAS-Tech, a fully digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, a redesigned dashboard, and more.
The brand will offer the four-wheeler with multiple engine options. It is likely to continue with the 1.5-litre N/A petrol and 1.5-litre turbo diesel motors available on the current model. Besides these, it will feature a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit capable of producing a maximum power output of 160 bhp with 250 Nm of peak torque. Both manual and automatic transmission options will be available in the product line-up.
According to the latest media reports, Hyundai is planning to launch the Creta Facelift in India around the month of February 2024. The manufacturer is slated to start production of the new model at its Chennai facility by January.
Upon launch, Hyundai Creta Facelift will rival the likes of the Honda Elevate, Škoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Toyota Hyryder, Citroen C3 Aircross, VW Taigun, and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
