The Korean automaker, Kia is preparing the next-generation Seltos SUV that has been caught multiple times in India and on foreign soil. Set to arrive in the first quarter of 2026, the new Seltos will come with both gasoline and hybrid powertrain options. Going by the images available on the Internet, it is visible that the new SUV will have a completely different design.
Compared to the existing model, the 2026 Kia Seltos will have boxier design and will come with a more upright front. The SUV will share some of the design traits from the bigger Kia SUVs including EV9 and Telluride. The front fascia is likely to house a Tasman-style grille, which suggest that Kia will give it a more rugged feel.
At the back, the 2026 Kia Seltos will come with an all-new and more rugged rear end. It will have a pair of slimmer, vertically stacked LED tail-lights, which seems inspired by the Kia's new electric SUVs. However, the exact shape of the tailgate and rear windshield are yet to be visible in all the images available on the Internet.
Interior spy shots are yet to be revealed, but the new Seltos is likely to get a revised dashboard layout with new tech and features. It is most likely to get a digital cockpit with a separate screen for the Climate Control and an updated Heads-Up Display. The SUV will also come with more connectivity and driver-assist features.
The next generation Kia Seltos will continue to be offered with petrol engine options. For the first time, the new SUV will come with a hybrid engine. The hybrid powertrain is likely to be the same that is offered on the Hyundai Kona and Kia Niro. Adding to it, the new Seltos will receive an e-AWD hybrid system. The hybrid version will rival the likes of the Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
The new Seltos is reportedly to make global debut in January 2026. It is expected to be launched in the Korean market by mid-2026, most probably in August 2026. Before Korea, the new Kia Seltos could arrive in our market. A possible launch in the first quarter of 2026 can't be ignored.
