Tata Punch facelift will share design with the Punch EV Gets a two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo A bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen replacing 7-inch unit
Tata Motors is getting aggressive with its product strategy for the highly competitive Indian car market. The homegrown automaker has recently launched the Sierra SUV, which received over 70,000 orders within 24 hours. Adding to it, the Harrier and Safari are set to receive a petrol engine option. The brand’s top-selling SUV, the Tata Punch will soon receive a mid-life update. In fact, the small SUV has been caught testing in production form revealing key design and interior changes.
The latest spy image reveals that the Punch Facelift exterior design will borrow styling elements from the Punch EV. It will come with a revised front fascia, featuring a slimmer headlamp setup, a new LED daytime running lamp signature, and new lower bumper. The small SUV will have a new set of alloys and new rear bumpers, and slightly tweaked tail-lights.
The new 2026 Tata Punch is not likely to receive the full-width LED band up front to distinguish itself from the electric model. The headlight assembly will have fog lamps with cornering function; however, this feature is likely to come in higher trims. Another upgrade is that of the availability of the 360-degree surround view camera, which could allow Tata Motors to offer blindspot monitoring function.

The cabin will also receive major changes in terms of features and looks. It will come with a new twin-spoke steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo. There is a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, which is a notable upgrade from the older 7-inch unit. The spy images reveal that the SUV will have a redesigned dashboard using new colours and trims. The higher-spec Punch is expected to get a 10.25-inch digital instrument console, while the lower-spec models likely to retain the 7-inch semi-digital unit. The small SUV could also get ADAS tech.
The 2026 Tata Punch facelift is not likely to receive any major changes. It will be powered by the same 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 86hp and 113Nm, and is paired to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT unit. In the CNG mode, the powertrain offers 73.4bhp and 103Nm. The CNG version is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox, but an AMT version is likely to join the line-up at a later stage.
Tata Motors is yet to announce the launch date of the new Punch facelift. We expect the new model to launch by the end of this financial year, most probably by March 2026.
