Maruti to launch Baleno and Brezza facelifts 7-seater Grand Vitara launch by the end of 2026
In a bid to solidify its lead in the Indian automotive market, Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch multiple new models before the end of the 2026-27 fiscal year. The company will launch three pivotal models that cater to hatchback enthusiasts and SUV lovers alike. Here are the three major Maruti Suzuki upcoming cars set to arrive by March 2027.
The Maruti Baleno has consistently been one of the best-selling cars in India, and the company aims to maintain its numbers by offering a mid-life update. Testing of the new model has already been started. This time around, the new Maruti Baleno will focus on a Digital-First cabin and improved safety.
- Key Design upgrades: it is likely to get a sleeker front fascia with a revised grille and updated LED DRLs, and new lower bumper. The hatch is also likely to get new set of alloys, revised tail-lights and new lower bumper.
- More Features: Inside the cabin, the hatchback is rumoured to finally get a single-pane sunroof, a 360-degree camera and a bigger touchscreen infotainment unit. The hatch could also get new seat upholstery and trims along with a powered driver’s seat.
- Engine Options: It is expected to get the same 1.2L DualJet engine with manual and AMT gearbox options. MSIL could also offer the 1.2L 3-cylinder petrol engine that powers the Swift.
The Brezza remains a top-seller in the compact SUV segment, but the rising competition, Maruti Suzuki is giving a mid-cycle update to maintain its appeal.
- Key Design upgrades: the SUV is expected to receive revised front grille and LED headlamps, and revised lower bumper. Other changes could include new alloys, revised tail-lights and bumper.
- More Features - Inside the cabin, the Brezza facelift is likely to get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, ventilated front seats and a redesigned dashboard with premium soft-touch materials.
- Engine Options - the Maruti Brezza facelift will continue to be offered with a 1.5L NA petrol engine with manual and automatic gearbox options. The CNG version will get the underbody CNG kit, which we have already seen on the Maruti Victoris. Adding to it, the SUV will also get a 1.0L turbo petrol engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Maruti Suzuki is testing a new 7-seater SUV based on the Grand Vitara. Codenamed Y17, the SUV is expected to be launched before the end of this year. This 3-row SUV will take on the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and others in the category.
- Key Changes: the SUV will have a longer wheelbase and a stretched rear overhang to accommodate a third-row seat. It will have a more upright rear design for improved headroom.
- Features: it will come with a panoramic sunroof, a strong hybrid powertrain and an all-wheel-drive option. The SUV will get six airbags and a full suite of LEVEL 2 ADAS features.
- Engine Options: the 7-seater Grand Vitara will be offered with a 1.5L NA petrol and a 1.5L strong hybrid engine.
