5 New Compact SUVs Launching by 2026 - ICE and EV Models to Watch

The compact SUV space is getting more exciting, and by 2026, we’re about to see some big updates and all-new electric models on the road. Brands like Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra, and Kia are pushing hard to refresh their line-ups with better tech, stronger safety packages, and more efficient powertrains.

If you’re planning to buy a small SUV in the next year or two, here are the top upcoming compact suv launches you should wait for.

1. Hyundai Venue 2025

The new-generation Hyundai Venue will go on sale on November 4, 2025. It’s getting a major tech upgrade, including a dual 12.3-inch connected curved display setup, panoramic sunroof, 8-speaker Bose audio, blind spot monitoring, 360-degree camera, ventilated seats and Level 2 ADAS. Multiple engine and gearbox options will continue, including petrol, turbo-petrol and diesel. The new Venue will set the benchmark for features in this segment.

2. Tata Punch Facelift (ICE & EV)

Tata Punch is getting a big refresh next. The updated petrol Punch is expected by late 2025, while the Punch EV facelift will likely arrive by 2026. The new design will take cues from the Punch EV’s cleaner, more modern front fascia. Inside, expect a better touchscreen, improved materials and new colours. Tata wants to make sure the Punch stays one of the strongest-selling micro SUVs in the country.

3. Mahindra XUV3XO EV

Mahindra is preparing the XUV3XO EV as the successor to the XUV400 EV. It’s expected to come with two battery options and a driving range of around 400 km per charge. This one will directly go up against the Tata Nexon EV and the upcoming Kia Syros EV. Launch timeline is expected in late 2025 or early 2026.

4. Kia Syros EV

Kia is entering the compact EV game with the Syros EV. It will sit below the EV6 in India and is likely to offer around 350-370 km of driving range. Kia will pack it with connected features, advanced safety tech and a premium cabin feel. Expect pricing to be aggressive since it needs to compete with Mahindra and Tata head-on. India launch is expected in early 2026.

5. Hyundai Inster EV

Hyundai will also introduce the Inster EV, positioned as a futuristic alternative to the Tata Punch EV. With two battery pack options and over 300 km real-world range, this one focuses on style and tech. Highlights include a full digital cockpit, wireless charging, 64-colour ambient lighting and ADAS. The India launch is expected by early 2026.
