Skoda has confirmed to launch its first sub-4 meter SUV in the Indian market in the first quarter of 2025. The company has confirmed that the SUV's name will be revealed on 21 August 2024. This small SUV will be based on the MQB AO IN platform that underpins the Kushaq and Slavia. It will rival the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO and the Maruti Brezza. It will be powered by a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine with manual and torque convertor automatic gearbox.
Nissan has confirmed that the Magnite facelift will be launched towards the fag end of this year. The updated model will receive design changes and an upgraded interior. It is likely to get new front grille, revised headlamp and tail-lamp clusters, new bumpers and tweaked alloy wheels. The cabin will receive subtle changes in the form of new features, new colour scheme and new upholstery. It will retain the existing engine options including a 1.0L 3-cylinder NA petrol and a 1.0L turbo petrol.
Kia will introduce an all-new compact SUV in the country in 2025. Rumoured to be called the Kia Syros, the new model is likely to be positioned between the Sonet and Seltos. It will be marketed as a lifestyle SUV, as the Syros will have a typical-rugged SUV styling with squared off wheel arches and boxy design. The cabin will receive high-end features like ventilated seats, ADAS tech, automatic AC, powered driver's seat, and others. It is likely to be offered with a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with manual and automatic gearbox options.
Maruti Suzuki is reportedly working on the Fronx facelift, which is likely to be launched in 2025. The crossover will receive design changes and an upgraded interior along with more features. Biggest change will be made under the bonnet. It is reported that the Fronx facelift will be the first Maruti Suzuki to feature in-house developed hybrid powertrain. The Maruti Fronx facelift is likely to get a 1.2L 3-cylinder petrol engine with a strong hybrid tech. It is likely to offer a fuel efficiency of over 35kmpl.
Hyundai is reportedly working on the next-generation Venue sub-4 meter SUV. It is likely to be launched sometime in the end of 2025. The next-gen Hyundai Venue will be the first model to be manufactured at Hyundai's new Talegaon factory. For people not in the know, Hyundai had required this factory from General Motors in 2023. The new model will receive all-new styling with inspiration from newer Hyundai SUVs like the Creta and the Alcazar facelift. The new model will retain the existing engine options - a 1.2-litre, NA petrol, a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo diesel.
