Honda will introduce next-gen City & compact SUV in India A new PF2 modular platform will be used to develop new 7-seater SUV Honda’s second EV after Elevate EV will be based on the new platform
Honda Cars India is looking to increase its product portfolio by introducing multiple new cars and SUVs. The company is working on an all-new modular platform for its future cars including hybrids, ICE and EVs. A total of 6 new Honda cars are likely to be launched in our market by 2026.

Honda is reportedly developing the next-gen Amaze sedan, which is expected to arrive in the next 1 year. Details about the new models are yet to be revealed. The new Amaze is reportedly to be based on the new Elevate platform, which will allow Honda to add more premium interior along with modern tech. It is likely to offer ADAS tech, which we have seen on the Elevate and City. Moreover, the sedan could get electric sunroof, a bigger touchscreen, a semi-digital instrument console and others. It is most likely to receive the same 1.2L NA petrol engine with manual and CVT automatic options.

Honda has confirmed that the Elevate based electric SUV will be launched in our market sometime in 2026. The new model will be based on the modified version of the existing platform. It will receive EV-specific design changes like new closed-off grille, new headlamp setup and new bumper. The cabin will also have some changes and more premium features. It is likely to get a battery pack of around 50-60kWh with a front-wheel-mounted electric motor. Expect a certified range of up to 500km on a single charge.

Honda is developing a new modular architecture, codenamed PF2, for the development of future cars including a new 7-seater SUV. Reportedly to be launched in 2027, the new SUV will be positioned above the Elevate. It will rival the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and others. The SUV is most likely to be offered with 1.5L NA petrol engine, and the 1.5L strong hybrid engine. More details..

The same platform will be utilised to develop the next-gen City sedan, which is likely to be launched sometime in 2028. The new model is likely to grow in size to offer segment-largest interior space and biggest boot. The sedan is likely to receive modern tech and premium interior. It is likely to retain the existing engine options. Read More..
