BYD Sealion 7 launch is scheduled for February 17 Available in two variants - Premium RWD and Performance AWD Complimentary 7kWh home charger with free installation is also on offer
BYD has confirmed to launch the Sealion 7 in India next week. Ahead of its official launch on February 17, the SUV has started reaching dealerships across the country. Bookings are currently open and will be vaild till February 17. Deliveries will start from March 7. Early delivery will be available for first 70 customers. The test drives of Sealion 7 have also begun at respective BYD showrooms.
The Sealion 7 was also showcased at Auto Expo 2025. Here is what we know so far about this SUV:

From the outside, the Sealion 7 looks quite stylish due to its low-slung bonnet and closed off front grille. Its sleek LED DRLs agressive bumper, and sharp lines make the SUV look quite sporty and visually appealing.
To add some premium touch, BYD has offered the new Sealion 7 with flush door handles and 20-inch alloy wheels. The overall side profile looks more attractive due to its sloping roofline and chrome inserts.

Moving on to the rear profile, it gets connected LED tail lamps with signature brand styling. Other elements include chunky silver skid plate and minor lip spoiler.
BYD Sealion 7 is offered with four exterior colour options including Atlantis Gray, Shark Gray, Cosmos Black, and Aurora White.

The cabin of the BYD Sealion 7 feels quite premium from inside as it gets 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen mounted on a black glass panel. The panel also host the digital driver's display, meauring 10.25-inches.
It also has the four-spoke steering wheel with multiple controls and function. Other premium interior features include, heads-up display, multi-colour ambient lighting, AC vents, dual wireless phone chargers, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, and a panoramic glass roof.
On the safety front, BYD Sealion 7 offers 360-degree camera, 11 airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, front/rear parking sensors, and hill hold control. It also has Level 2 ADAS suite comprising range of features, i.e., Lane Departure Assist, Bling Sport Detection, and Forward Collision Alert.

BYD Sealion 7 comes equipped with a large 82.5 kWh battery pack. This unit is available in single and dual motor options. Customers can also opt for two variants - Premium Rear-Wheel-Drive (RWD) and Performance All-Wheel-Drive (AWD). The entry level variant with RWD can produce 309 bhp and 380 Nm while AWD varaint can churn out 526 bhp with 690 Nm of torque. BYD Sealion 7 can offer the claimed range of over 567 km.
Being the luxurious SUV, BYD Sealion 7 can be priced somewhere between Rs 45 lakh and Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom). Wait for the 17th february to know the accurate price set by the brand.
As for the rival, BYD Sealion 7 will have a tough competition with BMW iX1 LWB, Kia EV6, and Hyundai IONIQ 5.
