Maruti Grand Vitara hybrid has mileage of 27.97 kmpl. Toyota Hyryder hybrid has mileage of 27.97 km/l. Maruti Swift CNG has mileage of 32.85 km per kilogram. Hyundai Exter CNG has mileage of 27.10 km per kilogram. Maruti XL6 CNG has mileage of 26.11 km per kilogram. Toyota Glanza CNG delivers a mileage of 30.61 km per kilogram.
As the fuel prices keep increasing, most buyers are now after cars that save them money, especially on their running costs, as fuel forms a significant expense in daily commutes in India. Cars that have high fuel efficiency reduce the running cost. Hence, in India, today, most of the cars boast of more than 25 kmpl. In this article, we have highlighted the best cars that India has come up with great mileage alongside other great features.

Maruti Grand Vitara is a compact SUV that saw its launch in India during the year 2022. Maruti Grand Vitara comes with different engines and with hybrid systems, gives a good result of fuel efficiency. This particular car is available in both the petrol and the CNG models. The petrol manual version gives 21.11 kmpl and the automatic one 20.58 kmpl. The hybrid variant comes with mileage of 27.97 kmpl, which is one of the highest in its SUV segment. The CNG version offers 26.6 km per kilogram, and it would save much in terms of fuel.

The other compact SUV that hit the market in 2022 is the Toyota Hyryder. It also has the same platform as the Maruti Grand Vitara but features a lot of modern facilities along with the option of highly efficient engines. Hyryder is available with a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a very powerful hybrid variant. The mileage offered by the hybrid version of the Hyryder is as high as 27.97 km/l, making it one of the most fuel-efficient SUVs in the market. In terms of preference to CNG, the Hyryder also offers a CNG version with an efficiency of 26.6 km per kilogram. It's a great mix of excellent performance and excellent fuel efficiency that places the Toyota Hyryder at the top in terms of an economic and versatile SUV.

Maruti Swift is probably the hatchback that everyone has always admired. They know for its sporty look and wonderful fuel efficiency. This model is now available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine. It gives 25.75 kmpl in the case of the automatic transmission, while in the manual gearbox, the result comes out to be 24.80 kmpl. But in terms of CNG, this vehicle's pick-up is about 32.85 km per kilogram. This makes the Swift an excellent car for those looking for a small car that would deliver good performance with low running costs.

The Ertiga is a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) perfect for large families or those who need more space. The Ertiga comes with a 1.5-litre engine available in both petrol and CNG versions. The petrol variant of Ertiga manages 20.51 kmpl, which is good enough as it goes for an MPV. But the CNG variant is different with the fuel efficiency of 26.11 kilometres per kilogram. So, it is definitely a great SUV for families who require a spacious vehicle but do not want to compromise on fuel economy.

Hyundai Exter is a small SUV offered as an affordable product, with good mileage in 2024. The engine used in it is 1.2 litres, a petrol mill delivering 81.8 bhp of power. In the case of the petroleum one, the mileage is given in 19.4 kmpl in a manual shift and in the case of the AMT version with a mileage of 19.2 kmpl. The CNG variant is even more fuel-efficient, providing 27.10 km per kilogram, making it an economical choice for those looking for a budget-friendly small SUV.

The Maruti XL6 is a premium MPV with the ability to be seating for three rows, further backed by two captain chairs. This is basically because, in a similar setup like the Ertiga, XL6 utilizes a 1.5-liter engine both as a petrol variant as well as the CNG. Mileage is also somewhat common in both its petrol models which stands to 20.51 kmpl but CNGs go extra-mile, covering around 26.11 kg per km. This makes the XL6 a practical and spacious option with good fuel efficiency.

Toyota Glanza is the premium hatchback that shares the same platform as the Maruti Baleno. It is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine, and with the manual transmission, it provides a mileage of 22.35 km/l, while with the AMT version, it gives a mileage of 22.94 km/l. That is pretty impressive for a hatchback in this segment. The CNG version of the Glanza is even more fuel-efficient, providing 30.61 km per kilogram. This makes Glanza an ideal car for someone who wants to have a fashionably designed vehicle with low operating costs.
