After Tata Motors, Mahindra has announced to pass on the full GST benefits to customers across its ICE SUV portfolio. For people not in the know, the Government of India has reduced GST rates on cars below 4 meters to 18% from 28%. On the other hand, the big cars and SUVs come under 40% tax slab; however, the Cess charged earlier has been completely removed.
Mahindra has officially announced that the benefits will be available to customers on the ICE portfolios starting from September 6, 2025. The Mahindra Bolero range is now cheaper by up to 1.27 lakh, while the XUV 3XO gets a price cut by up to 1.56 lakh.
The Thar range received a price cut of up to Rs 1.35 lakh, while the Scorpio Classic is cheaper by up to Rs 1.01 lakh. The brand’s top-seller, Scorpio-N gets a price reduction of up to Rs 1.45 lakh. The flagship Mahindra XUV700 is now cheaper by up to Rs 1.43 lakh.
The homegrown UV maker is expecting a huge demand for its SUVs in the upcoming Navratri season. The reduction in prices is expected to further boost demand of Mahindra SUVs. Brand’s small SUVs including Bolero, Bolero NEO, XUV 3XO and Thar 2WD Diesel are now attracting 18% GST instead of 31%. Mahindra’s big SUVs including Thar Roxx, Thar 4WD Diesel, Scorpio Classic, Scorpio-N and XUV700 are now cheaper by up to 8%.
