Hyundai India is gearing up to launch the all-new Inster micro-SUV. The brand's smallest SUV will be a direct competitor to Tata Punch EV. It will be locally produced at Hyundai's Sriperumbudur factory. The Inster EV will also be available on sale in the international markets.

The Inster EV will be 3825 mm in length, 1610 mm in width, and 1575 mm in height, along with a wheelbase of 2580 mm.
As far as the design is concerned, the sub-compact electric SUV will resemble Casper micro SUV, available in global markets.
Upfront, it will boast an EV-specific closed-off grille with bigger LED round-shaped headlamps. It will also have LED DRLs and a new lower bumper with a silver bar surround.
From the side, the Inster EV reflects its boxy styling with clean surfaces and squarish glass area. The base variant will get the 15-inch steel wheel while the mid-to-top trim levels will be offered with 15-17-inches alloy wheels.
Although the front and side profiles look similar to the global-spec Casper, the rear profile will hit differently. It will carry an LED pixelated tail light, a larger bumper, a bigger skid plate, and a roof-mounted spoiler.
The interior of the Inster EV will be filled with smart tech features. The micro SUV will come with a 50/50 split functionality for the second row with a slide and recline system. It will carry a freestanding touchscreen infotainment unit measuring 10.25 with the support of wireless smartphone connectivity. Other noteworthy features will include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 64-colour LED ambient lighting, a multi-functional steering wheel, a wireless charging dock, and more.
For driver safety, Hyundai will equip the ADAS suite for the new Inster EV. The kit will comprise multiple features such as Lane Keeping & Lane Following Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Parking Collision Avoidance Assist Rear, Surround View Monitor, and Blind-Spot View Monitor.
The South Korean manufacturer engineered the Inster EV to navigate crowded city streets and small parking spaces.
Under the hood, the Inster EV will carry two battery packs with a capacity of 42 kWh and 49 kWh. With the front-axle-mounted electric motors, both battery packs will deliver the power of 95 bhp/147 Nm and 113 bhp/147 Nm, respectively.
Hyundai Inster EV will offer a range of over 355 km on a full charge.
As for the charging time, the electric SUV can be charged from 10-80 percent in 30 minutes using the 120 kW DC charger. The EV could also get an option of 11 kW on-board charger as standard. Besides, it will support the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality.
