Kia Syros EV expected price: Rs 15–20 lakh Range of up to 370 km with fast charging in 30 mins Rivals Tata Punch EV, Nexon EV and upcoming Fronx EV
Kia is preparing to launch the Syros EV in India, and the upcoming electric SUV is expected to carry over most design elements from its ICE-powered version. Kia Syros EV will get some EV-specific touches while keeping the overall styling and dimensions the same.

Kia Syros EV is expected to be priced from around Rs 15 lakh, with top variants touching Rs 20 lakh. This puts it in direct competition with the Tata Punch EV and Windsor EV, while also overlapping with entry-level versions of the Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV400 EV, and the upcoming Maruti Fronx EV.
Compared to the Carens Clavis EV, which is priced between Rs 17.99 lakh and Rs 24.49 lakh, the Syros EV will serve as a more affordable gateway into Kia’s electric portfolio, making it an attractive choice for buyers looking for a compact and budget-friendly electric SUV.

Kia Syros EV looks almost identical to its petrol-powered counterpart. Spy shots show the test mule covered in heavy camouflage, but key elements like the pillars, ORVMs, roof rails, and shark-fin antenna appear unchanged. The alloy wheels are also similar, though the EV test vehicle sported green brake callipers, hinting at its electric setup.
Minor changes could include a closed-off front grille, EV-specific badging, and a charging port slot. The charging port is expected to be placed on the left side, as seen on a test mule in South Korea. Dimensions will remain the same at 3,995 mm length, 1,805 mm width, and 1,680 mm height with a wheelbase of 2,550 mm.
While the road presence will largely remain the same, Kia may introduce exclusive colour options for the EV version to differentiate it from the ICE model. The standard ICE-powered Syros already offers eight monotone colours, so the EV could get fresh shades to appeal to buyers.
Although Kia has not revealed official specs, the Syros EV is expected to borrow its battery packs from the Hyundai Inster EV. This includes a 42 kWh and 49 kWh battery option with Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) chemistry.
The larger 49 kWh battery could offer a range of around 370 km on a single charge. With fast charging support, the EV should be able to charge from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes, making it practical for city and highway use.
