Kia Syros, a premium SUV, was first introduced in December 2024. It is smaller than the Seltos but larger than the Sonet in Kia's lineup in India. The Syros will go on sale from February 1, 2025, with deliveries beginning mid-February. This new compact SUV offers various features that are different from those of the Kia Seltos, such as better technology, more comfort, and a new design.
Here's what Syros offers more than Seltos:
One of the most prominent upgrades in Kia Syros is its vast display setup. Syros comes with two 12.3-inch screens, which include a driver's screen as well as a touch-screen infotainment display. In contrast, Kia Seltos comes with 10.2-inch displays for both the purpose.
The Kia Syros comes with a 5-inch touch panel for controlling the air conditioning. In the Seltos, it is not offered. This adds to the interior design and keeps the look simple. The physical knobs are, of course, still present for adjusting the AC. The feature is available in the model starting with the HTX Plus variant.
Kia Syros is very special in terms of design language. The tall-boy stance and a lot of the modern design features make Syros look completely different from the Seltos. Inspired by latest Kia cars, the Syros looks like an even more premium product. Its flush door handles also complement that upscale feel to it. Conversely, Seltos sports regular door handles with its design far less differentiated as compared to Syros.
The Kia Syros is the first car in the sub-4-meter SUV segment to have rear ventilated seats. Furthermore, it also features fully adjustable rear seats that can be reclined and slid for passengers for greater comfort. Such features aren't even seen on the Seltos in its higher variants. The rear seat reclining and sliding function are available from the mid-spec HTK Plus, while the rear seat ventilation offered starts from the HTX Plus variant.
Cargo space is another feature that sees the Kia Syros beat the Seltos. The Syros comes with 465 liters of boot space, and there are 433 liters for the Seltos. The additional boot space in the Syros gives it an edge should a user ever require more boot space for luggage or other forms of cargo.
This takes parking convenience up a notch, as the Kia Syros boasts side parking sensors, which are not available on the Kia Seltos. The Seltos has front and rear parking sensors, but the Syros has two of each side, so drivers will be able to maneuver tight spaces better.
While both the Syros and the Seltos feature ambient lighting, the Syros offers more options. The Syros features 64-colour ambient lighting, which allows users to better personalize the interior lighting according to their preference. This is the highest range of colours available in this comparison, giving the Syros an added touch of flair.
