The all-new Kia Syros sub-4 metre compact SUV is set to make its global debut on 19th December 2024 at an event in Delhi. While the model and its key details will be revealed in the coming days, its prices will be announced at the Bharat Mobility Show in January 2025. This auto expo will take place from 17th to 22nd January at Bharatmandapam. The new Kia compact SUV will face tough competition from models like the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Maruti Brezza, and the Skoda Kylaq.
The Syros will be part of Kia’s "2.0 strategy"—a transformation plan emphasizing bold design, advanced technology, spacious interiors, and enhanced safety features. It will be positioned as a more premium product than the Sonet, reportedly offering more cabin space, particularly for rear-seat passengers. Additionally, it will feature several segment-first offerings, including a panoramic sunroof and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System).
Teasers have revealed that the Kia Syros will feature a floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other highlights include wireless phone charging, connected car technology, an engine start/stop button, and a black dashboard with an illuminated blue accent line. The SUV will also come equipped with a fully digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, powered and ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery, a tyre pressure monitoring system, hill hold assist, parking sensors, and rear disc brakes.
Regarding the powertrain, the new Kia Syros is expected to be offered with two engine options: a 1.0L turbo petrol and a 1.5L diesel. A front-wheel-drive (FWD) system will be standard, with both manual and automatic transmission options available. An electric variant of the Syros is also in the pipeline, though it remains unclear whether it will launch alongside the ICE version or at a later date.
As for pricing, the new Kia compact SUV is expected to start at around Rs 8 lakh for the entry-level variant and go up to nearly Rs 10 lakh for the fully-loaded variant.
Hyundai sold a total of 17,016 units of the Crete in April 2025, reporting a year-on-year growth of 10.2 percent.
