Mahinda cars has planned a busy future for itself with that launch of the XUV300 facelift and Thar 5-door in 2024. Recently the company confirmed a huge investment of Rs 10,000 crore for its electric business which is all set to introduce its first-born electric model the XUV e8 towards the end of 2024 or early 2025.
Now in some new information shared by the brand, it has confirmed its plans to launch the next-generation of the popular Bolero SUV in the country sometime 2026. Built on an all-new platform, the Bolero will underpin more SUVs and pickup truck models from the company.
Reports suggest that Mahindra & Mahindra is investing over Rs 2000 crore into the new U171 ICE platform that is expected to spawn over half a dozen SUVs and pick-up trucks including three full-size SUVs. The new architecture is expected to be a volume driver for the company with over 1.5 lakh units annually helping the company protect its loyal customer base in the hinterlands and the commercial vehicle segment.
The first product to be based on the new platform is expected to hit the market during 2026-2027 in the form of the next-generation Bolero. Currently details about the new Bolero are scare, but we expect the new workhorse from Mahindra to offer the same ruggedness as the outgoing model but with more feel-good features.
Following the launch of the new Bolero, the company will also introduce a pick-up truck based on the same platform which could enter production sometime during 2027.
