Mahindra Vision S SUV - Key Details Revealed

Mahindra Vision S SUV brings a bold boxy design to compact segment. Expected with new NU_IQ platform and modern features like ADAS. Will sit between XUV 3XO and Scorpio N in Mahindra lineup.

Mahindra is working on a new compact SUV based on the Vision S concept, and it will sit above the XUV 3XO and below the Scorpio N in its lineup. The SUV is expected to arrive around 2027 and will play an important role in Mahindra’s future product plans.

Boxy SUV Look With Strong Road Presence

The biggest talking point of this upcoming SUV is its design. Instead of a typical rounded compact SUV look, Mahindra is going for a boxy and upright design.

It is expected to get a straight roofline, strong wheel arches, and a bold front stance. A rear-mounted spare wheel may also be part of the design, giving it a more traditional SUV feel. Overall, it will look more like a bigger SUV in a smaller size.

New Platform for Better Space and Comfort

The SUV will be based on Mahindra’s new NU_IQ platform, which is a modern monocoque architecture. This platform is expected to improve space inside the cabin, make the ride more comfortable, and also help the SUV handle better on different road conditions. It will also allow Mahindra to build more SUVs in the future using the same base.

Modern Features Inside the Cabin

Inside, the Vision S SUV is expected to come with all the modern features buyers expect today. Higher variants may get a large touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, and connected car features. Features like cruise control and Level 2 ADAS are also expected, making it more tech-friendly and safer for everyday driving.

Petrol and Diesel Engine Options

Mahindra is likely to use familiar engines in this SUV. This may include a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine, both already seen in other Mahindra models. Both manual and automatic gearbox options are expected, depending on the variant.

Expected Pricing and Competition

The Vision S-based SUV is expected to be priced starting below Rs 10 lakh, which will make it a strong option for budget SUV buyers.

It will compete with other compact SUVs like the Kia Syros and upcoming models in the same segment. However, its boxy design and SUV-like feel could help it stand out from the crowd.
