What’s Cooking at Maruti? Three Vehicles in One Shot

Maruti Suzuki tests Brezza facelift, Baleno facelift, and YMC EV together. YMC EV is the brand’s first 7-seater electric MPV in India. Series of launches expected from late 2026 into early 2027.

Maruti Suzuki has been spotted testing three new vehicles together on Indian roads, giving enthusiasts a rare glimpse at the brand’s upcoming launches. The convoy included camouflaged prototypes of the Brezza facelift, Baleno facelift, and the YMC electric MPV.

All three vehicles were wrapped in the familiar stripe camouflage used for late-stage testing. The convoy hints that Maruti is preparing a series of launches spread across late 2026 and early 2027.

Brezza Facelift

The Brezza facelift keeps its familiar compact SUV footprint, five-door layout, and raised ride height. Updates are visible in the rear tail lamps, which feature a connected light bar design, and new alloy wheels. Inside, the facelifted Brezza is expected to have a larger touchscreen, a six-speed manual transmission, and an underfloor CNG tank option.

Baleno Facelift

The Baleno facelift is distinguishable by its hatchback proportions, lower and wider front, and a more sloped roofline. The rear bumper and tail lamps have been refreshed. Inside, it will likely get a larger touchscreen and upgraded connected features, keeping it competitive in the premium hatchback segment.

YMC - Maruti’s Upcoming 7-Seater EV

The most exciting of the three is the YMC, Maruti’s first 7-seater electric MPV. Taller and longer than the other two vehicles, it features a boxy tailgate, upright greenhouse, and LED light bars at the front and rear. Large glass windows across all three rows and alloy wheels similar to the eVitara highlight its family-friendly design.

The YMC is expected to use Maruti’s Heartect-e / 27PL EV platform, likely sharing batteries and powertrains with the eVitara. At around 4.5 metres long, it will compete with the Kia Carens Clavis EV and Mahindra XEV 9S, offering a practical electric option for Indian families.

Launch Timeline

Seeing all three prototypes together indicates Maruti Suzuki plans a staggered launch schedule from late 2026 into early 2027. The Brezza and Baleno facelifts will refresh two of Maruti’s most popular models, while the YMC EV will mark its entry into the family-oriented 7-seater electric MPV segment, expanding the brand’s EV portfolio.
